many people are saying that it does not matter who you vote for. that the country is in so much trouble as it is and no one can save us. maybe it is true. maybe we are beyond repair. but maybe someone can really help improve the country. i think sometimes i might come off as "unpatriotic" and that bothers me because it is not really how i feel. i want to be proud to live wherever i am living. however, when i step back and look at the big picture, it is not always that easy. i think most people are tired of the past 8 years and are ready for change.
So for the two presidential hopefuls:
i must say that you both are obviously extremely intelligent to have gotten where you are today. although i rarely agree with one of you, i must say that i respect you for the fact that you have beliefs and you fight for them. on the other hand, i agree with one of you on mostly all of your platforms and i respect you so much because i feel you love this country and truly want to make a change for the better.
i admire one of you so much because you have really run a campaign that is practically free of attacks on your competitor. that really means so much to me.
but there is one of you whose whole campaign seems to be run on the basis of attacking your competitors character. i cannot respect that at all. it is so hard to know your positions on issues when you are trying to smear your opponent instead of telling the public your plans for change.
but to whomever of you takes office, please use this position for good. there is so much good you can do. please realize that taking this office necessitates the need for you to be completely selfless. you are doing this for the American people as a whole. i know you are strong enough to take this position because you are here. if you were not strong enough, you would have broke down somewhere along the way.
